Stefanie Böhm received her PhD from LMU Munich in 2011, where she worked on cell cycle regulation and the ubiquitin-proteasome system in S. cerevisiae with Alexander Buchberger. As a postdoc in Kara Bernstein’s lab at the University of Pittsburgh, she studied factors regulating genome stability, before joining the Department of Translational Genomics at the University of Cologne to analyze molecular determinants of lung cancer. Stefanie then transitioned from “the bench" to scientific publishing and has been working as an Editor at The EMBO Journal since 2019.
