Title: Neural dynamics (in camouflage, sleep and visual cortex)
Abstract: I will illustrate different facets of neural dynamics in three different animals, systems, and at three different scales. The first will be about camouflage behavior in cephalopods; the second in sleep in the lizard claustrum; the third in the visual cortex of turtles. These three examples will serve to illustrate the diversity of dynamical behaviours expressed by systems of neurons and the difficulty to predict how each operates without direct experimentation.
